Behind the Scenes: Writing my first cosy murder mystery

April brought with it a much needed two week break from college. By the end of term, I run out of steam. It doesn’t take much to tip you over the edge. I managed to hold it together until I was walking home.
My last day of term was totes emosh for two reasons. Firstly, it was my lovely boss’ last day as he departs for pastures greener and fun adventures at Kingston College. We wished him all the luck in the world and made sure he knew how loved and appreciated he was before he went. Secondly, there were some funky and unexpected staffing issues which left me with a nasty taste in my mouth. Honestly, I would rather write more books than statements!
Once I was on my holidays, I forgot all about that and enjoyed relaxing with my favourite pups. This is Millie. I can’t explain how humbling to spend time with a blind dog. The way Millie navigates the world fearlessly is remarkable. It makes you grateful for everything!
I had a sleep over with little Moe at the cottage where I was gifted an Easter bag of hot cross buns, chocolate, stationery and beauty treats. We were also blessed with glorious sunshine.
I celebrated Lizzy’s birthday at our local pub. She is my Manager at the gift shop and such a bright light in this world. It was lovely to catch up with all the girlies and laugh until our faces hurt.
I had my colours done as a belated birthday gift. Do you know what colours suit you? I am a warm-vibrant Spring which is all the colours I love: corals, peaches, turquoise blues, navy (no black), cream (no white). Afterwards we went for brunch to celebrate the launch of my new book and then I came home for a nap - that was enough extroverting for one day!
