Hello Lovely Wildheart,

Welcome to October. How are you feeling as we step into this month’s energy? This month it’s all about Transformation and it’s in two parts. First of all I want to talk more about the nuances and complexities of change, and then we’re going to dive into the journaling prompts and cards together.

The opportunity for change is all around us. We’re constantly being sold instant transformation - whether that’s a new body, new life, new partner, new home, new wardrobe, new hairstyle, new gadget, or new set of skills. We all know that treating ourselves to a new pair of shoes or having our hair done gives us a instant lift (a dopamine hit), but the truth is that lasting change takes deeper self-reflection, honesty, commitment, hard work, and it also takes time.

I’m not sure why we’re sold the magic bullet that it takes 21 days to create a new habit because it’s never that straight forward or quick. Especially for those of us healing from childhood trauma.

That’s why many people continue on with old, outdated coping strategies (like comfort eating, smoking, drinking, workaholism etc.) and never go to therapy. It’s also why many people find themselves in therapy when these coping strategies no longer work, and they find themselves in too much pain (mental, emotional, physical or financial) to carry on.

I’ve been in this business for over a decade, and it’s very rare that people come to me because they fancied β€˜giving coaching a try.’ It’s always more urgent and desperate than that.

Let’s explore TRANSFORMATION together as we amble over Surrey Hills
